Clary
Business Machines was established
in San Diego in 1954 to market and
service Clary adding machines and
cash registers. The firm was first
incorporated in 1974 and the management
has changed once since then. Despite
an ever-changing product mix, the
company has maintained many old, well-established
sales and service relationships with
a large quantity of small to large
commercial firms as well as government
and public institutions. Today Clary's
customer list read like "Who's
who" in US commerce.
In 2001, the company ventured into

were developed for various product
lines with an emphasis on simplicity,

This strategy helped build very strong
relationships with the manufacturers
/ suppliers and gain customer confidence.
The company now owns 12 websites and
generates a little over ½ its
revenue through Internet sales nationwide.
Our product specialists supplement
the Internet content by educating
our customers over the phone. Building

Clary's main strength
in the local San Diego market has
been the outstanding reputation of
its Services department. Its main
strength in Internet sales has been
its focus on top quality brands and

that recommend customized solutions
to our customers and educate them
on end-to-end solutions.
The company has adapted the strategy
to become a "one stop shop for
